My Story
Hello! I’m Jason, and I’m glad you’re here. Here’s a little about me.
Let’s start with the name. Deltarat has been a part of my life for quite a while.
The name Deltarat comes from a nickname I was given years ago by a coworker. Growing up in the Mississippi Delta, it stuck. I registered the domain long before I knew exactly what I wanted to build. Looking back, I'm glad I did.
I've always enjoyed making things. Sometimes that means writing fiction. Other times it's photographing a landscape, working on a board game design, drawing, or learning a new artistic skill. Deltarat is the place where all of those interests come together.
One week I may be writing a story. The next I might be learning gouache painting, experimenting with a new camera lens, or designing a board game. Part of the fun is sharing that journey as it unfolds.
My Creative Philosophy
Looking back, I realize creativity has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Deltarat is the natural result of years spent writing, drawing, photographing, designing, and being curious about the next thing to learn.
One of the things I've learned over the years is that creativity isn't reserved for professionals. Every artist, writer, photographer, and designer starts as a beginner. Deltarat exists to celebrate that process—not perfection.
My Hope for Deltarat
If something I create encourages someone else to pick up a camera, write a story, build a game of their own, or simply try something creative, then Deltarat has done exactly what I hoped it would.
